To say advertising is in Jim’s blood wouldn’t be a stretch. His father, Carson, helped shape San Francisco’s ad community from the 50s to the 70s. And today Jim helps shape the client roster at Cibo. Jim started his career at Ogilvy & Mather SF which became Hal Riney SF. He opened and managed the Riney office in Chicago and also spent time at Y&R Chicago. The brands he counts as customers include some of the same brands we continue to admire today, like the Oakland A’s, Swanson Foods, Anheuser-Busch, See’s Candies, Logitech, Henry Weinhard’s and Mirage Resorts.
In 2005, Jim met Lu at Sapient, where he was involved in the launch of HondaJet, and worked on brands such as Union Bank, Crystal Cruises, California Tourism, Dolby, Yahoo!, Linksys and Virgin Charter. He left the US to do agency acquisition consulting in London, but returned to his SF roots to launch Cibo as Co-Founder and CMO.
